On 12th June, 2016, Tan Cang Cai Mep International Terminal (hereafter called TCIT) honored to welcome the maiden call of a vessel of CMEX service lane operated by CKYHE Alliance. The vessel's name is Cosco Shanghai operated by Coscon Shipping Line.

This is a new service lane that comprises the fleet of 12 vessels with average capacity of 5,500 Teus. The service will deploy at 13 ports from Asia to Middle East, West Coast of North America with the following rotation: Jebel Ali- Damman-Port Kelang-Singapore- TCIT- Yantain- Hong Kong- Shanghai- Prince Rupert- Vancouver- Qingdao- Shanghai-Ningbo-Shekou-Singapore- Jebel Ali. The new service will help shippers have more choice to transport their cargoes to many destinations along its rotation.

For the maiden call, Cosco Shanghai handled over 230 Teus  for import-export cargoes. This initial volume is not much, however, it is potential that in near future there will be more volume of this service lane, expected about 1,000 Teus, which will help increase the total throughput volume at TCIT in 2016.

This new service helps TCIT increase its total number of weekly service lanes to 09. It is expected that there will be more and more service lanes calling at TCIT in the future.
